The University of Montana Chapter of Pi Alpha Alpha (UMPAA) serves the students, alumni, and associates of the University of Montana engaged in public policy, public affairs, and administration. UMPAA strives to enhance the experience of its members by providing opportunities for professional development, networking, and public service through academic and professional support.
There are two types of UMPAA memberships:
- Allied Membership
- Global Membership
Everyone is eligible to join UMPAA as an Allied Member. Allied Membership costs $10, the entirety of which is retained locally.
Global Membership is available to students and alumni who maintain a 3.7 GPA (or higher) and have completed at least 18 credits of required MPA coursework. Global Membership costs $60, $10 of which is retained locally and $50 of which is returned to Pi Alpha Alpha establishing a membership in the global honor society for public affairs and administration.
If an individual joins first as an Allied Member and later is eligible to seek Global Membership, they are only required pay the $50 Pi Alpha Alpha fee (because they previously paid the local fee via Allied Membership).
The following form asks what type of membership you are interested in and collects your identifying information for membership application purposes.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the UMPAA faculty advisor, Dr. Shannon K. Vaughan at mpa@mso.umt.edu.
