All events and gatherings at UM should have a COVID-19 Risk Mitigation plan. Careful decision-making will be necessary when deciding to plan and host an event on campus. There is no guarantee of an illness-free event. However, planning, training and implementing reasonable health and safety measures can help protect events, employees and attendees.
This plan shall show how the event will be implemented and controlled so that all the health and safety requirements can be met.
UM event organizers should consider if their event or gathering is essential to the mission of UM, their department, student group or organization. Event organizers also should be aware of possible increased staffing cost around events that needs greater sanitation frequency and attendee monitoring.
Organizers need to be prepared to modify, scale back or cancel the event if current conditions and or guidelines change, or if notified by a public health officer to do so.
Event Organizers must follow their plan during the event and make adjustments as needed throughout the event if needed.
